A little olive oil to add flavour to spring

With the coming of spring so comes the renewal of energy necessary to take care of all the things that must be done. It can be taking care of the various aspects of our world - the outside and inside - home, job and ourselves. So where do we begin?

In order to take care of things, we need to be in balance and therefore taking a little time for ourselves helps to keep us sane. This could be going to the gym, reading a book or going surfing on the internet to appease that relaxing window shopping call.

Fortunately, Fabulous Living Shopping Gallerian has so many great products to look at and buy. We just put Simon & Tomas' Olive Oil boutique live this week, A L'Olivier offers a variety of olive oils, vinegars and condiments to give any dinner an extra special touch. My personal favourite is the basil flavoured extra virgin olive oil and the balsamic vinegar cream put on top of a nice mixed greens salad.

Snow blitz

On a snowy Stockholm morning we met with Tomas at London W8 Interiors Boutique which he and Simon own. We were there to get things going for their olive oil boutique called A l'Olivier which was mentioned in yesterday's blog. We were greeted by their very friendly Jack Russel, Pooter, who wanted all the attention. But business had to be conducted and our attention went to Tomas. Their store is incredibly beautiful with fantastic products for your home. And maybe some time soon London W8 will join us.... (fingers crossed)

After leaving London W8 we went to visit our smallest boutique, Lollipuppies who is in the middle of creating and sewing her new spring collection for children. I wanted to get a sneak preview of the new collection but as a true artist/designer it was not to be revealed yet. Like us you too will have to wait a little while longer. Lollipuppies had a busy Christmas with a lot of new customers and she

Lastly before leaving we went to another great café just around the corner from Lollipuppies called Vurma. They have such delicious soups and salads there. The chickpea soup came with a sandwich on dark danish style bread, cream cheese, peppers and a drizzle of pesto. After that we were ready to face the snow chaos of the Siberian-like landscape with cars in ditches all the way back to Gothenburg!

A celebrity day

Our second day in Stockholm has been as good as our first. Today A l'Olivier from, Stockholm joined us. A l'Olivier is what the name suggests, a store that sells specialty olive oil. It is a French company which started in 1822 in Paris. In the fall 2008 Tomas Cederlund and Simon Davies (TV designers Simon & Tomas) opened the store on Grev Turegatan in Östermalm.

We have been eating at great restaurants and cafés - among our favorites Ristorante Capri, Ciao Caio Grande both in Östermalm and our favourite café in Södermalm called Mellqvist Kaffebar. It just so happens that one of the Stig Larsson trilogy movies was filmed here - Flickan som lekte med elden. When we watched the movie we were happily surprised to see our favourite spot.

Then to top it off, we have been staying at a great Bed & Breakfast which is run by another celebrity, TV Chef - Kråke Lithander. Now she has a Bed & Breakfast website called Days In Sweden where you can find and book B&B's in Sweden and abroad www.daysinsweden.com.
